Special tools required:
Necessary preliminary tasks:
IMPORTANT: Secure swivel bearing against falling out.
Slacken nut (1).
Pull out screw (2) with cable clip (3) toward the rear.
Expand swivel bearing with special tool 31 2 230 .
Remove swivel bearing from spring strut.
Installation note:
Keep press fit of swivel gearing and spring strut in lower area clean and free from oil and grease.
Screw head must face opposite to the direction of travel.
Replace screw and nut.
IMPORTANT: When replacing spring strut/swivel bearing, the tightening sequence must be adhered to.
Tightening sequence:
Installation note:
Align positioning pin (1) on spring strut to swivel bearing. Slide spring strut into swivel bearing to the limit position.

Removing and installing/replacing left or right swivel bearing

Release collar bolt (1), press brake pedal to floor for this purpose.
