BMW X3 Owners Manual: The concept

When the vehicle is locked, the vehicle alarm system responds to:

  • Opening a door, the hood or the tailgate.
  • Movements in the interior.
  • Changes in the vehicle tilt, e. g., during attempts at stealing a wheel or when towing the car.
  • Disconnected battery voltage.

The alarm system briefly signals tampering:

  • By sounding an acoustic alarm.
  • By switching on the hazard warning system.
  • By flashing the daytime running lights.
